Hunan's artistic and cultural heritage is rooted in the regional civilization of “Three Xiang and Four Waters”, featuring physical art remains centered on form, color, pattern, craftsmanship, architecture, calligraphy and sculpture. Unlike the broad sense of cultural relics, the artistic heritage of Hunan focuses on “aesthetics and craftsmanship”, covering six major art systems: bronze art, Han Dynasty painting, ceramic painting, cliff calligraphy, ancient architectural aesthetics, and folk handicrafts. It is the most representative visual treasure house of classical art in southern China.
